Received call from someone stating he was a rep from DirectTV and was calling to set up service for me. I had not called to request this as I JUST moved into a new place. He DEMANDED my credit card number AND social security number both of which I did not give him.

these people are fauds , they collect debts that are past the statute of limitations, threaten legal action, and arrest, when asked if they are a collection agency they will tell you no.. and they are .. report for fdcpa violations to FTC, BBB, etc ..

Recording stating that due to my excellent credit and payment history I'm eligible for rate reduction on my credit cards, but they do not mention my credit card company. I get calls from this number at least 4 or 5 times a week and have been on the do not call registry for some time. If you press 1 to speak to a rep. a person comes on asking for your credit card information. I've tried twice to tell them to stop calling, and have reported the number to the Do Not Call registry.
